SUMMARY:Rod Stewart: One Last Time
DESCRIPTION:Sir Rod Stewart is one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music with more than 250 million records and singles sold worldwide.\nHis signature voice\, style and songwriting have transcended all genres of popular music\, including rock\, folk\, soul\, R&B\, and the Great American Songbook\, making him one of the few stars to enjoy chart-topping albums throughout every decade of his career. Stewart has earned a number of the industry’s highest awards\, including two inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame\, the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting\, New York Times best-selling author\, GRAMMY™ Living Legend\, and in 2016 he officially became “Sir Rod Stewart” after being knighted at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity. In 2023\, his first foray outside of music\, Wolfie’s Whisky\, was another critical hit and has quickly been embraced worldwide. In 2024\, he tackled yet another music genre with the release of Swing Fever\, his 33rd studio album. The album\, a collaboration with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra\, a 13-track sparkling salute to the timeless songs of the big band years\, garnered him his 11th No. 1 album in the U.K. – a feat he shares with David Bowie\, Taylor Swift and U2 on the all-time list of acts with the most No. 1 albums in the U.K. His top selling “Once Last Time” tour has already made stops in Asia\,  Europe\, North and South America.  For more information visit RodStewart.com and follow him on Facebook \,Instagram\, YouTube and TikTok.

SUMMARY:ZZ TOP & Dwight Yoakam
DESCRIPTION:“That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” has been at it for well over a half century\, delivering rock\, blues and boogie on the road and in the studio to millions of devoted fans.\nWith iconography as distinctive as their sound\, ZZ TOP is virtually synonymous with beards\, hotrod cars\, spinning guitars and that magic keychain\, all of which transcend geography and language.\nIt was in Houston in the waning days of 1969 that ZZ TOP coalesced from the core of two rival bands\, Billy Gibbons’ Moving Sidewalks and Frank Beard and Dusty Hill’s American Blues. Their third album\, 1973’s Tres Hombres\, catapulted them to national attention with the hit “La Grange\,” still one of the band’s signature pieces today. Eliminator\, their 1983 album was something of a paradigm shift for ZZ TOP. Their roots blues skew was intact but added to the mix were tech-age trappings that soon found a visual outlet with such tracks as “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs” on the nascent MTV. It was one of the music industry’s first albums to have been certified Diamond\, far beyond Gold and Platinum and a reflection of US domestic sales exceeding 10 million units.\nAs a touring entity\, they’ve been without peer over the past five decades\, having performed before millions of fans on four continents and have been the subject of their own Grammy-nominated documentary titled That Little Ol’ Band From Texas.  The band’s line-up of the bearded Gibbons and Hill and Beard\, who ironically is clean shaven\, remained intact for more than 50 years until Dusty’s passing.  When Dusty temporarily departed the tour in the summer of 2021\, it was a given that Elwood would be the perfect choice to stand in for Dusty until he could return. But Dusty’s return was not to be\, and Elwood continues to handle the bass duties for the band now and into the future.\nThe elements that keep ZZ TOP fresh\, enduring and above the transitory fray can be summed up in the three words of the band’s internal mantra: “Tone\, Taste and Tenacity.”. As genuine roots musicians\, they have few peers. Their influences are both the originators of the form – Muddy Waters\, B.B. King\, et al – as well as the British blues rockers and Jimi Hendrix who emerged the generation before ZZ’s ascendance.\nThey have sold hundreds of millions of records over the course of their career\, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas\, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (by Keith Richards\, no less) and have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms. They are true rock icons and\, against all odds\, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done. ZZ TOP abides!

They are true rock icons and\, against all odds\, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done. ZZ TOP abides!\nABOUT DWIGHT YOAKAM\nDwight Yoakam is a legendary artist whose influence has reshaped the landscape of country music and beyond. With over 25 million albums sold worldwide\, he is a 21-time GRAMMY® nominee and multiple GRAMMY® Award winner. His catalog includes 12 gold albums and 9 platinum or multi-platinum releases\, with five topping Billboard Country Albums chart and 14 landing in the Top 10. Nearly 40 of his singles have charted on Billboard\, including 14 Top 10 hits.\nA recipient of the Americana Music Association’s Artist of the Year award and BMI Country Music’s President’s Award\, the highest honors bestowed by each organization\, Yoakam was also inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019.\nHis latest release\, Brighter Days (Via Records/Thirty Tigers)\, marks his first new album in nine years. Released in November 2024\, the album was written and recorded over a three-year period and features twelve brand-new songs written or co-written by Yoakam. It also includes three seemingly disparate covers: “Keep On the Sunny Side” by the Carter Family\, “Bound Away” by Cake\, and “Time Between” by Chris Hillman of The Byrds\, artfully woven into the same body of work in the unmistakable style that could only be Dwight Yoakam.\nA passionate curator of musical heritage\, Yoakam launched his SiriusXM channel Dwight Yoakam and The Bakersfield Beat: Where Country Went Mod in 2018\, spotlighting the Bakersfield sound and its far-reaching influence. The channel celebrates the Bakersfield sound and those whom it has inspired. Guests have included Post Malone\, Lukas Nelson\, Beck\, Chris Hillman\, Jakob Dylan\, and Jackie DeShannon.\nIn 2016\, Yoakam released Swimmin’ Pools\, Movie Stars…\, on Sugar Hill Records. Featuring a band of bluegrass luminaries\, this album boasts a collection of reinterpreted favorites from his catalogue\, as well as a cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain”. Produced by nine-time GRAMMY® winner Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss\, Dolly Parton)\, Jon Randall (songwriter of “Whiskey Lullaby”)\, and Yoakam himself\, and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge\, this album reflects the love for bluegrass music that Yoakam developed at an early age in Kentucky and that has inspired him for many years thereafter. In 2018\, Yoakam released two songs\, “Pretty Horses” and “Then Came Monday” (the latter written with Chris Stapleton).\nYoakam is a multifaceted artist\, seamlessly blending his musical talents with a robust acting career. He has appeared in over 40 feature films\, including notable roles in Sling Blade (1996) and Panic Room (2002). He later reunited with Billy Bob Thornton for David E. Kelley’s Amazon series Goliath. Yoakam portrayed Warden Burns in Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky (2017) alongside Channing Tatum and Daniel Craig and took on the role of Howard Polk in Clint Eastwood’s Cry Macho (2021). Throughout his career\, he has demonstrated his acting range alongside acclaimed actors such as Jodie Foster\, Tommy Lee Jones\, Jared Leto\, Forest Whitaker\, and Matthew McConaughey.\nWhether on stage\, in the studio\, or on screen\, Yoakam continues to evolve as one of the most compelling and culturally significant artists of our time.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Peabo Bryson
DESCRIPTION:The Rising South season will culminate in a benefit concert and fundraiser headlined by two-time Grammy Award winner Peabo Bryson\, whose legendary voice and artistry have inspired audiences for decades. \nMr. Bryson—recipient of Grammy Awards for “A Whole New World (Aladdin’s Theme)” and “Beauty and the Beast”—will perform a full concert in support of Rising South’s mission.\nPrior to Mr. Bryson’s performance\, local artists and student performers will take the stage\, including a signature musical presentation titled “From Hidden to Crowned\,” which depicts the journey from pain to purpose and triumph over violence.\nThrough this project\, Rising South Literacy School invites the entire community—students\, educators\, artists\, and families—to take part in building a culture of peace\, literacy\, and collective pride.\nABOUT RISING SOUTH LITERARY SCHOOL\nAlthough Rising South officially became a 501(c)(3) organization in late 2022\, and then paused after the loss of its founder\, our commitment to community service extends back more than two decades. Long before obtaining nonprofit status\, we operated as a grassroots volunteer collective\, organizing literacy drives\, mentoring youth\, hosting free arts workshops\, and leading community dialogues on gun violence\, domestic abuse\, and neighborhood revitalization. \nIn February 2023\, we experienced the profound loss of one of our founding organizers\, Phillip Muhammad\, a retired police officer and passionate advocate for violence prevention who worked closely with residents most vulnerable to adverse outcomes. \nHis dedication continues to inspire our mission\, and today Rising South carries forward his legacy by advancing initiatives that promote community safety\, education\, and healing.\nLEARN MORE

SUMMARY:2026 Huntsville Classic featuring Rob Thomas
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Huntsville Classic Benefiting Huntsville Hospital Foundation will take place on Saturday\, May 9 at The Orion Amphitheater\, featuring Rob Thomas and Junctional Rhythm. \nDATE AND TIMES\nSaturday\, May 9\, 2026 \nApollo South Open: 5 PM\nDoors Open: 6:30 PM\nShow Time: 7:30 PM \nRob Thomas still pushes himself to progress as both a performer and a songwriter.\nEven after achieving sales of 80 million records worldwide between his solo output\, Matchbox Twenty\, and various collaborations\, generating billions of streams\, and entertaining millions of fans on the road\, a restless burst of inspiration unflinchingly drives him to create. It’s the same spirit that has cemented him as a generational artist. On his sixth full-length solo album All Night Days\, he continues to pen honest songs about life and love that always seem to hit you at the right moment when you need them the most.\n“Dude\, I’m just a fucking middle-aged dad who’s still trying to write the perfect song\,” he laughs. “At the core of it\, my wife\, son\, and family are more important than anything\, but music helps me get through life. I don’t have a hobby. This is what calms me. This is what gets me excited. This is where everything goes to. I don’t feel much differently mentally than I did at 30. I love it as much as ever.”\nThat passion has defined his expansive catalog. Beyond Matchbox Twenty smashes such as “Push\,” “3AM\,” “If You’re Gone\,” “Bent\,” and more\, he has delivered a series of solo hits\, including “Lonely No More\,” “This Is How A Heart Breaks\,” and “Street Corner Symphony.” He elevated into the stratosphere alongside Santana on “Smooth\,” which garnered three GRAMMY® Awards and went triple-platinum. As a solo artist\, Rob has notched three consecutive Top 10 entries on the Billboard 200\, beginning with his now-classic double-platinum #1 debut album …Something To Be. Most recently\, 2019’s Chip Tooth Smile bowed in the Top 15. Plus\, it incited the applause of Rolling Stone\, Billboard\, Good Morning America\, and ABC’s Nightline who professed\, “No matter your age group or musical taste – or whether you even realize it – you’re probably familiar with Rob Thomas’ music.” He stands out as the first artist to receive the Songwriter Hall of Fame’s coveted “Hal David Starlight Award” in addition to garnering numerous BMI and ASCAP Awards. Giving back at every turn\, he also notably co-founded the Sidewalk Angels Foundation alongside his wife Marisol Thomas.\nStarting in 2020\, he carefully assembled what would become All Night Days with co-producer Gregg Wattenberg [John Legend\, Goo Goo Dolls]. This time around\, he took a different approach\, building out the album over a few years instead of crafting it in one shot.\n“It’s funny\, because I didn’t set out to make a ‘record’ like I normally would\,” he affirms. “Instead of sitting down and just doing the whole thing alone\, I got to take my time. It’s truly a collection of the best eleven songs I’ve written since Chip Tooth Smile.”\nFittingly\, he introduces the record with the sunny and swaggering “Hard To Be Happy.” Buoyant piano accompanies his upbeat delivery boosted by a bright bounce and slick guitar. It sways towards an instantly chantable chorus\, “‘Cause I don’t know why. Some tears get hold of me. Sometimes it’s hard to just be happy.”\n“I wanted to write a song that felt happy\,” he says. “More than ever\, we live in a time where personal and mental wellness can become a focus in your life. For that to happen\, it needs to be acceptable to say\, ‘I’m not happy right now; I don’t feel comfortable in my own skin’. The song itself is very no-filler. It shows\, ‘It’s alright to be unhappy\,’ but it’s wrapped up in a happy tune. The message is\, ‘I’m going to be fine\, but leave me alone for this second’.”\nHarmonies give way to claps and shimmering keys on “Hand In My Hand.” It culminates on a reassuring refrain\, “Put your hand in my hand\, lay your head on my shoulder\, and feel just a little bit more.”\n“We’re in a weird place\,” he notes. “If you talk about compassion\, caring\, and wanting to love your fellow man\, it’s perceived as a ‘political’ move. I’m simply saying\, ‘We’re all on this planet together. We’re all brothers and sisters’. If we all made a little effort to see other as the children we once were\, everything would be fine. Let’s take a moment\, connect in a human way\, and feel a little more. Even if things seem fucked up\, it’s going to be alright.”\nThe title track “All Night Days” revolves around a magnetic riff uplifted by a head-nodding groove. It stretches towards a climactic chorus as Rob proclaims\, “I know I’m just a little bit drunk right now. I’ve never felt like this. I wish I could be wild and just for a little while.” The arena-ready guitar solo only amplifies the energy.\n“Someone said to me\, ‘Remember when we used to stay out all night?’\,” he recalls. “I replied\, ‘I think my ‘All Night Days’ are over’. I believe everybody should make a bad decision here and there\, because that’s what makes life worth living. Personally\, I have a hard time reigning it in though\, so I don’t know what it’s like to be wild for only a little while! That song is special. Musically\, we’re trying to present these songs in a new way with vitality.  There are artists that are out right now that I really love and every time I would write something that felt too much like one of them I would auto correct. I didn’t want to sound like anyone else. I wanted to sound like me. I made a Rob Thomas record.”\nGuitar tiptoes around whistling and finger-snaps on the raucous “Machine.” Flaunting his high register\, it kicks into high gear on the horn-laden hook\, “I guarantee I’m in control. I’m a machine.” He goes on\, “It makes me picture a dad in Whole Foods on a mission with his kids in the shopping cart!”\nElsewhere\, he notably co-wrote “I Believe It” with his Matchbox Twenty bandmates Paul Doucette\, Kyle Cook\, and Brian Yale. “We’ve been kicking around the song for a while\,” he notes. “It naturally fit what I was doing\, and the guys were cool with it.”\nAll Night Days concludes with the heartfelt exhale of “Back to The Start.” Over plaintive acoustic guitar\, he reminds\, “Life starts turning sideways and the whole thing falls apart\, but if you feel like second chances\, when you come to the end\, we can always go back to the start.”\n“My wife and I have been together for 27 years\,” he elaborates. “I’ll never forget when she first met up with me. I came up from Florida\, and I was so stoked to be in New York City with this model who lived in Queens. There is so much that happens over the course of a lifetime. You’ll be sitting there in your worst time\, and somebody will say\, ‘Remember that place we were at’. These memories can reignite a new beginning even if it feels like the end.”\nComing full circle\, Rob’s son Maison actually recorded tracks for a handful of songs. “Maison went to Berklee College of Music\, and he has his own band\,” he goes on. “He’s really put in the work. It’s really cool to have him on the record. If it’s nepotism\, it was earned.”\nIn the end\, Rob is still making the kinds of songs that last forever.\n“I hope you see yourself in my music\,” he concludes. “The great songs I listen to are the ones where I’m the hero of the story in my head—even if I don’t know the writer. There are a lot of ‘Saturday Night’ and ‘Sunday Morning’ songs on All Night Days. Maybe one of these tunes becomes a part of your life. I’m going to keep writing no matter what.”

SUMMARY:Sam Barber
DESCRIPTION:See Sam Barber perform live at The Orion Amphitheater on Saturday\, May 16\, with special guests Michael Marcagi and Bebe Stockwell. \nDATE AND TIMES\nSaturday\, May 16\, 2026 \nApollo South Open: 5 PM\nDoors Open: 5:30 PM\nShow Time: 7 PM \nMulti-platinum singer-songwriter Sam Barber captures the experience\, uncertainty\, wisdom\, and promise of coming-of-age on his 2025 EP\, Music for the Soul [Atlantic Records].\nEmpathetic songwriting\, eloquent instrumentation\, and a downright spirit-shaking voice brought him from a farm in Missouri to the doorstep of superstardom. Following the breakout success of his 2024 debut album\, Restless Mind\, the new EP chronicles how he got here and where he’s headed next. Beyond the acclaimed immediate fan favorite “Man of the Year\,” the single “Home Tonight” layers his gritty full-bodied vocals above naked acoustic guitar staring down unrepentant loneliness and unrequited love. The title track “Music for the Soul” wrestles with fame\, and “Same Sad Shit” addresses anxiety and depression. He wrote on every tune\, collaborating with producers Joe Becker and Ryan Hewitt at studios in Nashville\, TN\, and Bozeman\, MT. Prior\, Sam delivered the 2x RIAA Platinum certified “Straight and Narrow\,” “Better Year\,” and “Indigo (Feat. Avery Anna)\,” gathering more than 2 billion streams to date and selling out headline tours across the globe. Now\, Music for the Soul makes good on its title.
