City of Madison Independence Day Parade

The City of Madison invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with the America 250 Parade on Thursday, July 2, at 6 p.m.

The parade will travel along County Line Road, beginning at Heritage Elementary School and ending at James Clemens High School. The route is approximately 1.6 miles.

Community groups, organizations, elected officials, walking groups, marching groups, vehicles, floats, and trailers are welcome to register. Current elected officials may participate, but campaigning is not allowed.

Registration forms must be submitted by 5 p.m. Monday, June 22. Late registration forms will not be accepted.

Forms may also be emailed to SpecialEvents@madisonal.gov, faxed to 256-772-9377, or dropped off at the front desk of the Madison Community Center.

All participants must follow the City of Madison parade safety policy. Entries with riders must have raised sides, children must be supervised by adults at all times, and all vehicles, floats, trailers, and participants must be visible throughout the parade. Candy may be handed to parade attendees, but it may not be thrown from vehicles or trailers.

The City of Madison Independence Day Parade Committee, Madison Police Department, and City officials reserve the right to deny registration or remove any entrant if rules are not followed or a safety concern arises.
