Founded in 1822, Athens State University is the oldest educational institution of higher learning in Alabama. The university is dedicated solely to helping transfer students finish their degrees and awards both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Students can choose between more than 50 majors and over 40 minors in the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education.
