Want to See Your Photo Published?
Do you have a photograph that captures the beauty, energy, or character of the Greater Huntsville area? We want to see it! Submit your best photos of your favorite spots around town for a chance to be published in the upcoming edition of Choose Huntsville® – Huntsville Resource & Relocation Guide®, the go-to guide for everything you need to know about the Rocket City.
We want to showcase our community through your eyes! Whether you’re just starting out behind the camera or have been doing photography for years, we’re looking for beautiful images that capture the places, experiences, and scenery that make this area special. Photographers of all experience levels are welcome to submit their work, and your photo could be featured in the 2027 edition – or even on the cover!
WHY SUBMIT?
Selected photographs will be featured in the upcoming edition of Choose Huntsville® – Huntsville Resource & Relocation Guide®, putting your work in front of visitors, newcomers, and locals throughout the Greater Huntsville area. All featured photographs will have a source credit, and any selected photographers will receive a free copy of the publication.
Publishing in January of 2027, the printed guide receives over 3,000,000 impressions annually, as it’s distributed to more than 400 locations, including area hotels, luxury apartments, attractions, businesses, retailers, realtors, and other community destinations. A digital version is also uploaded online at ChooseHuntsville.com, reaching an even broader audience across the nation!
Submissions open: September 1 – October 31, 2026
Photo Categories:
Submit your favorite photographs in any of the following categories:
- Businesses
- Parks & Outdoors
- Landscapes
- Homes & Neighborhoods
- Restaurants & Food
- Entertainment (Museums, Attractions, Events, Etc.)
- Schools & Universities
Photo Requirements:
Only photographs that meet the following specifications will be considered:
- Full color
- High resolution
- File types accepted: JPEG, HEIC, or TIFF
- Photographs must be original, personally captured work. AI-Generated images, stock photography, and photographs taken by or sourced from someone else are not eligible.
Submission Guidelines:
- You must be at least 18 years old to submit a photograph.
- If your submitted photograph includes recognizable individuals, you must have permission from the subjects to submit the image for publication and promotional use.
- Not all submitted photographs will be selected for publication.
- Photographs taken with a mobile phone are allowed.
- Normal processing of the original file is acceptable. That includes:
- Cropping
- Minor adjustments to color, white balance, tone, lighting levels and curves, shadows and highlights, saturation, contrast, sharpness
- Removal of dust spots and moderate reduction of image noise
- Photographs that have been digitally or otherwise altered beyond standard optimization will be disqualified. That includes:
- Stitched panoramas
- Images that have been manipulated by the addition, removal, or alteration (painting over, cloning, or blurring) of anything in the original subject and scene that were photographed
- Borders, signatures or watermarks
- Flipped images (a mirror-reversal of the original image across a horizontal axis)
- Changes in color so significant that the processed colors are widely different from the original colors
- Changes in density, contrast, color and/or saturation levels and dodging and burning that significantly alter content by obscuring or eliminating information in the picture
- A committee will review submissions and select photographs for publication by November 15, 2026.
- Photographers whose work is selected for publication will be notified via email.
- Submitted photographs that are not selected for the print publication may still be considered for use on ChooseHuntsville.com or our social media channels.
- By submitting a photograph, you acknowledge that you have the right to submit the image and grant Choose Huntsville permission to consider the photograph for publication and promotional purposes.
