As part of the America 250 Celebration, the City of Madison invites you to their annual Independence Day Parade! Starting at 6 p.m., witness vibrant and patriotic marching groups, vehicles, floats, and trailers as they follow the route from Heritage Elementary School to James Clemens High School.

July 3 

If you prefer to celebrate without fireworks, check out this silent event. Lit by colorful UV lights and glow sticks, hikers can enjoy Monte Sano State Park’s Silent Fireworks: Guided Glow Night Hike – a tour designed to be welcoming and accessible for people with a wide range of sensory preferences.

July 4 

A once-in-a-lifetime celebration awaits at the Huntsville Salutes America’s 250th in downtown Huntsville! Presented by Meta, the celebration opens with a vendor market and food trucks at 4 p.m., followed by a parade at 5 p.m., live music from multiple bands at 6 p.m., and a spectacular 25-minute fireworks finale that’s accompanied by the Huntsville Concert Band at 9 p.m.

July 4 

Get ready, get set, and sparkle at The Firecracker 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run – Huntsville’s oldest and favorite local 4th of July Race. Starting at 7 a.m. at Morning Side Baptist Church, the race route follows the scenic views of the Aldridge Creek Greenway and is perfect for all fitness levels. Childcare and post-race food are provided.

July 6, 13, 20, 27  

The free, award-winning concert series, Concerts In The Park, is back at Big Spring Park every Monday night during the summer! Grab a slushie and sit back to enjoy the colorful fireworks show and local music talent as they play a mix of genres – everything from rock, folk, and country to Latin, dance, R&B, and top 40 hits.

July 10 

Witness American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, filmmaker, and television producer Jerry Seinfield live at the VBC Mark C. Smith Concert Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a night filled with observational humor, quick wit, and laughter. Tickets are available online.

Follow the lamplight to The Moonlight Market – “one of the best ways to experience Friday night in downtown Huntsville!” Every second Friday from now until October, the Downtown Square comes to life with more than 40 local artisan vendors, shoppers, and live music. Vendors open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 9 p.m.

Cool music, cold drinks, and good times await at the 805 After Five concert series! Every third Thursday from now until October, thousands will gather at Campus 805’s Butler Green Park for the free concert, local food trucks, yard games, retail vendors, and more. July’s spotlight artist is Susannah Joffe.

Dreamworks’ iconic film, The Prince of Egypt, is coming in the form of a musical to Huntsville’s Mainstage Theater at Lee. Follow the tale of two brothers – Moses and Rameses II – as they struggle between love and prejudice, power and peace in the sweeping retelling of the Biblical account concerning the Hebrews’ liberation.

July 16-20

Described as an “after-party for America’s 250th anniversary celebration,” The Rocket City Space Fest will be a five-day community celebration of Huntsville’s pivotal role in space exploration – especially during the Apollo era – and its enduring legacy of scientific innovation and discovery. Rolling into Big Spring Park, the Downtown Food Truck Rallies are back for the summer! With a rotating lineup of fan-favorite food trucks and brand-new vendors serving everything from savory street eats to seasonal sweet treats, there is something to satisfy every craving!

July 18

Head out to Butler Green Park for Huntsville’s newest music, arts, and culture festival, Rocket City Culture Fest! As a vibrant celebration of all cultures, the event will feature local art, cultural exhibits, food trucks, a vendor market, live music, and more. 

July 21

Celebrate Brit Floyd’s 15th anniversary at the Brit Floyd – The Moon, The Wall, and Beyond concert! Widely recognized by fans and critics as “The world’s premier Pink Floyd experience,” the band will perform a nearly three-hour show featuring hits from Pink Floyd’s legendary albums, The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall.

July 24, 25, & 31 

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” but most especially when Shakespeare is being performed in the Huntsville Botanical Garden! Experience the thrill of live, outdoor theater with rotating productions of Shakespeare’s comedies, Much Ado About Nothing and The Taming of the Shrew – all backdropped by stunning sunsets and the natural beauty of the garden.

July 26 

Get ready for a “slammer at the hammer” – YellowHammer Brewing, that is – during the second annual Adult Dodgeball Tournament! Inviting 16 teams to compete in a double-elimination format, the competition will include play-by-play announcements, a trophy ceremony, live DJ, and refreshing treats to keep players and audience members cool in the heat. Team registrations are open online.
